Red Ribbon for Me
Last night I went to Gallery 204 in Vista for a reception of their first open juried show. I had to go...I had an award to win! I received 2nd place in Watercolor, quite a feat as I looked around the gallery and was surrounded by silver-haired veterans who have been painting all day, everyday for 40 years. Here is the winning piece, "Girl in a Purple Dress." I painted it last year because as I looked through my photo references, my husband dared me to do it, thinking I couldn't do the fabric. Who's boss now, with a 2nd and 3rd (Aug 2008, COAL Gallery) place ribbon for it?(Not a great photo of me, but you get the idea. What would you look like after playing all day in Sunny San Diego?)
