But in the fall, because of changes in the length of daylight and changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process. The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. Temperature, light, and water supply have an influence on the degree and the duration of fall color.Early frost will weaken brilliant red colors. Rainy or overcast days tend to increase the intensity of fall colors.
So enjoy them while you can! And send some my way...I really miss the show this time of year.

I love the warm colors of autumn trees, it reminds me of a great big bear hug. Like those ones that Brian gives me when we are standing in line in the grocery store checkout when I'm cold - and then he plants a big kiss on my forehead. Ahhhh Fall colors are lovely!
Cute blog and lovely pictures.
Love it!
Lindsey!
You and the Mister should come up to Big Bear with me and my mister some weekend while it's Fall. They have some color in their trees and it is very pretty! Plus, there is delicious Indian food involved. :)
wow, awesome pictures. i must say, utah has amazing fall colors -- that's one thing it has going for it, and CA doesn't!
Gorgeous pictures!
